Deep water wells and well maintenance at Al Asad Airbase
Drilling of two deep water wells, abandonment of two dry wells, then two years of call-out maintenance for seven wells.
The challenge
A U.S. airbase needed a reliable water supply, with new wells drilled and existing wells kept running on call.
What we did
- Drilled two deep water wells of about 150 m (lump sum, December 2017 – January 2018).
- Plugged and abandoned two dry wells.
- Call-service maintenance contract for seven water wells (August 2018 – August 2020).
Result
The lump-sum drilling job led to a two-year maintenance contract with the same prime.
